Newton Community Fridge - Nobody Should Be Hungry
The overriding advice from Government and the medical and scientific professionals leading the fight against COVID-19 is STAY AT HOME.
Many people have been instructed to stay at home no matter what, as venturing out in the current climate could put their health and potentially their life at risk. We've all been instructed to stay at home, unless our journeys are essential, as otherwise we could put the health and potentially the lives of others at risk. We are hoping to help raise funds so that Newton Community Fridge - Nobody Should Be Hungry can continue to help those needing most help in our community right now. Working through a coordinated response with muliple agencies, they are here for everyone in need of support, either due to vulnerabilities or financial difficulties as a result of the current crisis. |
If you're struggling for access to food, we also have a small army of volunteer drivers (headed up by our very own Seve) ready and waiting to lend a hand. As well as stocks of food in their fridge, and on the shelves at Newton Community Fridge - Nobody Should Be Hungry, The Victoria have also kindly allowed them to fill their freezers too, so there's plenty to go around! Get in touch and one of the team will bring you a bag of essentials to help you through this difficult time.
You can email [email protected] or call 01925 357 599 and leave a voicemail message.
Please be patient, we're all still working too so replies may not be immediate, but we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can, and get the food delivered to you even quicker if possible!
All deliveries will be contact-free. We will leave food on or near to your doorstep and knock/ring the bell or give you a quick call to let you know its ready and waiting.
All of our volunteers will also adhere to strict social distancing guidelines to keep each other, and our community safe.
For now the community fridge remains open, however we would encourage everybody to take advantage of this delivery service wherever possible, to help keep local travel to a minimum, and help in the local and national battle against this pandemic.
Thank you, and stay safe
